I would like to welcome you to Franklinton High School and to the Red Ram family! We are excited to have you visit our website and hope that you will see the amazing students, parents and staff who make our school such a wonderful place to learn, work and grow. Please continue to explore our website for more specific information about our many programs and activities. We also encourage you to register for our weekly RamPage Newsletter (found under the Quick Links Tab), text updates and emails for additional information, calendars and special announcements.
As we begin this school year we are continuing to grow as a school and community. We understand our need to create diverse learning opportunities for our students and to prepare them for the many challenges they will face beyond our doors upon graduation. Our challenge and promise is to meet our school's mission; Focused on Learning, Honoring our Traditions and Serving our Community. Everything we do focuses on these three strands of learning and we are committed to making a difference in our community, county, state and nation.
As a school, we know that it is imperative to address twenty-first century learning skills as our focus shifts from the use of traditional textbooks to the use of technology and digital learning. We provide a broad range of distance-education opportunities for our students through our College Academy partnership with Vance-Granville Community College and our learning lab through the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. We also have a full catalog of Advanced Placement Courses for our students, including the AP Capstone program. In addition, our Career & Technical Education programs at Franklinton High School are second to none in preparing our students with real-life skills, work-ready certifications and credentialing that can carry them directly into the fields of work or in furthering their education in selected areas.
In Athletics we continue to grow and have entered the 3A Big East athletic conference. This is an exciting new era for our school and we expect our athletes to excel in their respective sports and in the classroom. Our coaches are educators who know the importance of teaching their individual sports, but also emphasize the importance of maintaining good grades and school attendance, as we expect our athletes to be role models at FHS.
Finally, our wide variety of extracurricular activities and clubs offer something for every student on our campus. We encourage our students to join these organizations and participate in this important part of high school life. Through these experiences, we also make a point to impress upon our students the importance of service-beyond-self in at all grade levels. This is an important component of all clubs and programs on our campus and establishes a culture of growth and community among our students and staff.
Again, I welcome you to Franklinton High School and I hope that you will take part in the many opportunities for learning we have on our campus. If you would like to visit our campus, please call the main office to arrange a tour, or to speak with school staff and we will be glad to give you a tour and share more information.
