After graduating from Franklinton High School, Mrs. Miller attended the University of Mount Olive to get her B.A. in English Education. Upon graduation, she enrolled in her master’s program and began teaching high school English full time. Mrs. Miller returned to FCS in 2017 teaching at LHS first and then moving to FHS. She is AP Language and Composition Certified and is one of the advisors for the National Honor Society at FHS. She married her high school sweetheart in 2017 and they have two boys and two dogs to spend time with. In her free time, Mrs. Miller loves to read, write, shop, craft, but most importantly visit Disney World with her family.

Mr. Bachand is a highly energetic, detail oriented leader in the classroom and the school who is highly concerned that his students develop the essential skills necessary to strive in today's ever changing world. His belief is that every member of a team is vital, this starts with the facilitator (teacher) and requires every student to engage daily showcasing their abilities and talents through meaningful group based projects that they will use in the present and future. While he teaches English, he has successfully led the Yearbook Team over the last seven years at Franklinton. He is also highly involved in Journalism with Quill and Scroll and NEWS CREWS coming to FHS in 2023. Mr. Bachand has a passion for the arts (theater, music, visual, and creative writing). He is honored to be starting his twelfth year of teaching for Franklin County School.

Inspired by the love for literature and writing, historical context, as well as rhetorical analysis, Ms. Bauer strives to encourage her students to think critically about the texts they explore. She primarily teaches Composition, English II, AP Language and Composition, as well as heading the AP Capstone program at Franklinton High. Ms. Bauer challenges her students through teaching and modeling the skills necessary for them to build their reading and writing skills, as well as their portfolios to use beyond the classroom when faced with higher education and careers. Though she has been teaching for fourteen years, she considers herself a lifelong student; intrigued by students’ development of topics to research and their interpretation of texts, making connections to 21st century topics and skills. Ms. Bauer is also an advisor for the Red Ram Mentors, a Beginning Teacher Mentor, and the Head Varsity Softball Coach for the Lady Rams.

Ms. Clark began her teaching career in Blackburg, Virginia. She is an avid Virginia Tech Hokies fan! She moved to North Carolina in 2004 to continue her love for teaching. She believes that making strong connections and building trust in the classroom increases student success. One of her favorite quotes is, “To the world, you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.” Dr. Seuss.

A teacher, coach and mother of two daughters, Mrs. Lent has spent most of her life in the field of education. While born and raised in Rhode Island, she began teaching English in 2001 in the inner city of Los Angles, spent several years as a Middle School Assistant Principal, and returned to the classroom when her daughter underwent traumatic brain surgery. She is grateful to have the opportunity to live and serve in the Franklin County community which she now calls home, and hopes to expand the Aquatics and Journalism programs at Franklinton High School.
