After graduating from Franklinton High School, Mrs. Miller attended the University of Mount Olive to get her B.A. in English Education. Upon graduation, she enrolled in her master’s program and began teaching high school English full time. Mrs. Miller returned to FCS in 2017 teaching at LHS first and then moving to FHS. She is AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition Certified. Mrs. Miller is one of the advisors for the National Honor Society at FHS. She married her high school sweetheart in 2017 and they have two boys and two dogs to spend time with. In her free time, Mrs. Miller loves to read, write, shop, craft, but most importantly visit Disney World with her family.

Mr. Bachand is a highly energetic, detail oriented leader in the classroom and the school who is highly concerned that his students develop the essential skills necessary to strive in today's ever changing world. His belief is that every member of a team is vital, this starts with the facilitator (teacher) and requires every student to engage daily showcasing their abilities and talents through meaningful group based projects that they will use in the present and future. While he teaches English, he previously led the FHS Yearbook Team for over seven years.. He is also highly involved in Journalism, Podcasting, Student Government, a FHS SIT team member, and FCS 5 year strategic planning committee.. Mr. Bachand has a passion for the arts (theater, music, visual, and creative writing). He is honored to be starting his fourteenth year of teaching for Franklin County School.

Inspired by the love for literature and writing, historical context, as well as rhetorical analysis, Ms. Bauer strives to encourage her students to think critically about the texts they explore. She primarily teaches Composition, English II, AP Language and Composition, as well as heading the AP Capstone program at Franklinton High. Ms. Bauer challenges her students through teaching and modeling the skills necessary for them to build their reading and writing skills, as well as their portfolios to use beyond the classroom when faced with higher education and careers. Though she has been teaching for fourteen years, she considers herself a lifelong student; intrigued by students’ development of topics to research and their interpretation of texts, making connections to 21st century topics and skills. Ms. Bauer is also an advisor for the Red Ram Mentors, a Beginning Teacher Mentor, and the Head Varsity Softball Coach for the Lady Rams.

Ms. Clark began her teaching career in Blackburg, Virginia. She is an avid Virginia Tech Hokies fan! She moved to North Carolina in 2004 to continue her love for teaching. She believes that making strong connections and building trust in the classroom increases student success. Mrs. Hampton started teaching in Oklahoma 13 years ago. She first taught at a small school in South Coffeyville, OK where she taught middle school English and reading, high school psychology and sociology, as well as 11th grade and 12th grade English. From there, she and her family moved to Broken Arrow, OK where she taught at Broken Arrow High School, the largest high school in Oklahoma. After many years teaching sophomore on-level, sophomore Pre-AP, and senior English, her husband had the opportunity to relocate to North Carolina for employment. After the school year in Oklahoma was completed, the whole family moved to this beautiful state. She is excited to be here and happy to have the opportunity to work with your students.

Debra W. Jizi, M.Ed., is a dedicated educator who has spent her career helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers. She has taught English and language arts at every level from elementary school to college, working in classrooms across North Carolina and Virginia. Debra is passionate about creating supportive learning environments, encouraging students to find their own voices, and helping them build confidence in their abilities. She enjoys weaving technology and collaboration into her teaching to make learning engaging and relevant.
